Should the parents pay for the handbag to be replaced?

A woman was on a flight when a child vomited, some vomit landed on her bag which cost £900 from Louis Vuitton. The woman told the parents they need to pay to have the bag cleaned or replace it. Later on the woman contacted the parents saying it was sent for cleaning but Louis Vuitton couldn't get the smell out of the bag and demanded they pay for a new one. Do you think the parents should buy a new one? Thoughts?
