just diagnosed today :(

I was just diagnosed today with genital herpes I have never had an outbreak on my mouth just down there. It burns and is so irritated. I am completely devastated I can't believe it :( was given medicine to treat it...any tips on how to reduce pain? My boyfriend also has an outbreak today so same time mine developed. We have a commited relationship of a year but we are going through stressful times right now i think that's why it popped up...and so it developed At the same time. We're both very surprised and sad this is happening...
