Breastfeeding and 1st period? When did yours come?

*Baby is 5 weeks 3 days and today I'm having period like cramps today. Bleeding from delivery has stopped at 3 weeks postpartum. So 2+ wks ago.

**Im pumping and bottle feeding. Does breast feeding(or pumping)  affect when your first post birth period comes?  
Ive been pain free since about an hr after birth... So Any pain right now is very noticeable! & I'm noticing cramps! Ugh!  Didn't miss this feeling at all.

***When did You get your 1st period again?  are you breastfeeding or formula or both? Idk if breast feeding / pumping affects your cycle or not. I feel like I just stopped bleeding!  But..  I guess it really has been a few weeks

I've been breastfeeding for 8 weeks and I got my first period at 5 weeks pp. I've heard some breastfeeding moms go quite a while before they get their first period (3-9 months). Guess we just got lucky hahahahahaha

I have been exclusively breastfeeding (nursing not much pumping) for 9 months. I have only had one period at 5 months pp. I started the mini pill after that period and haven't had another since. I'm not sure if its cause I'm still nursing or if the mini pill stops ur period. But yes breastfeeding/ pumping will stop ur period normally until the baby starts sleeping for 6+ hours or you don't pump at night. It can be different for each person but it does affect ur period
