I planned my first one but im leaving any planning for any event in the hands of my sister in law who went to school for event planning. I figured id give her some stuff to put in her portfolio. 
Its hard though because im a control freak and my sister in law.... well... lets just say she sucks as a planner. Ex: she said she would watch our son while we went to a football game, then she forgot she made plans for that night and left my son with my other sister in law, who then had to drop her plans. 
Needless to say, Im watching her like a hawk. Lol

I don't know my hubby and I usually plan our own. It usually turns into dance after. We spend atleast 2000$ as our families are so big and we loveeeeee to join them together!
