Miscarriage statistics?

Megan
Hi everyone! So I know this might be an emotional post but this is my first pregnancy and I have a history of anxiety about things I can't control. I've had a healthy pregnant thus far, I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow and I'm constantly researching miscarriage statistics. I know my chances of having one are pretty low now that I'm about to be in my second trimester but I would really appreciate your vote on either a personal experience you had with a miscarriage or maybe someone you knew? I totally understand this is a different question but seeing the votes from this wonderful community of loving women would really help give me a piece of mind. Obviously the voting is anonymous, I just really appreciate the support I see from woman to woman on here. Thank you so much in advance and for those of you who have a experienced this trauma, I am praying for you and all the rainbow babies!:)

Google the article "lies, damn lies, and Miscarriage statistics." It's Incredibly informative and it'll give you a lot of peace of mind

You need to work on letting this go hun. I've been through it and got pregnant after and you can't let anxiety control something you have no control over. Try to speak to some one about why and how you feel, family, friends, your doctor, online. The more you talk the less it will consume you.

Once you've hit 10-12w, your chance of a miscarriage drops to 2-4%. Especially once you've seen/heard the HB.  Last year I miscarried at 9w, it turned out my baby had stopped growing at 7w.  I'm 37+4 with my rainbow baby today. The worrying never stops, I even worried before all my ultrasounds that something would be wrong. It's completely natural to worry, but take comfort knowing your risk is so low at this point!  Praying for a happy, healthy pregnancy for you mama!! Congrats on your baby!!

I had a miscarriage at 14 weeks at a young age . However there were outside forces that made me have a miscarriage. My Drs had said normally the risks of having a MC at that far along are rare . So I am comfortable at 18 weeks knowing that my sweet baby is growing healthy and strong.

I've had 2 MC which lead me to be very cautious during my current pregnancy. So cautious that I didn't actually get to enjoy the beginning of it (it didn't help that my morning sickness was horrible). Once I found out I was having twins I basically though "Oh no! This isn't going to be good." Or that something was going to go wrong, I got to the point where I prepped myself for the worst case (which I still do) but this was the only way my mind worked for me. I still get tears in my eyes at every ultrasound, because I get to see both of my boys being boys and kicking each other lol. I can say that I'm 32 weeks today, I've had no pregnancy complications (some dehydration issue but it's only affected me) and my OBGYN seems to think I'll be able to carry longer than expected since I've only had minor cramps (legs only), I'm still pretty active and able to move easily. Try to have some positive thoughts and talk to your doctor about your concerns.
