Advice please

So I think I'm loosing some of my mucus plug it's my second pregnancy so I know what it looks like but I'm only 23 weeks. I'm getting Braxton hicks contractions but I have been for a couple weeks now. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow but should I call today to get checked or and I over reacting? I don't want to have my baby prematurely but don't want to go in if its nothing. Thanks
