Should tips be exempt from taxes?

If you're a waiter/waitress or in another position that earns tips, should those tips be exempt? Why or why not?

I think any bonus pay shouldn't be taxed. Tax is already taken out of wages and a tip/bonus is a thankyou for hard work. I get we have to pay tax each but why shouldn't someone get keep that little extra when they have worked really hard for it?

Okay I work as a server and i make about 24$ an hour working. If we didn't get taxed on our tips I would make MORE.. and that's kind of not right. I think we should be taxed. Like everyone else

No. It's counted as income. Especially when you're a server. My paycheck would be $92 but I would pull in $300-$400 in tips. How would it be fair to people who would make the same amount get taxed but I didn't?

No. If you wanna tax something then pay them an actual fucking documented wage at or above minimum wage. 🖕🏻

Tips are already exempt from tax if its cash. But if its charged to the card im not sure

Yes because they already only make a couple bucks an hour....only do it if they also get paid a living wage on top of tips.
