Doing your own strep swab??

Question

I had my 37 week appointment today and they had me do my own Group B strep swab. Did anyone else do their own? I assumed the dr would do it to make sure it was done correctly....

My midwife told me they have the patient do it themselves but I won't have it til next week. A little strange but oh well.

I had my 36 week appt yesterday & did mine myself too which I thought wasn't very professional. I don't even know if I've done it right 😫 x

I did my own this past week. It was pretty easy and quickly preferred it this way.

My last dr for my daughter made me do mine myself. I guess she thought it'd be more comfortable to do myself? (Like pregnancy left me with any dignity anyways lmao)

I go to a birth center where the midwives had me do my own GBS swab. It was really simple and I honestly liked not having another person all up in my business lol
