Yes. They need the professional opportunity to fix and fight their addiction(s). Jail or prison won't help with that. It will be deadly withdraw or they will continue to use while inside... and that can be deadly with the topic of injections

I don't think we should crowd up our prisons with non violent offenders. Not all people who get arrested for having drugs are addicts so I'm not sure they should automatically go to rehab, but it could be a better option.

No one should be arrested on any drug charges because drugs shouldn't be illegal 🤷🏼‍♀️

But, while they are, I do not think every single person who gets arrested for using needs rehab. I also don't think drug usage is punishable with jail time. If they need rehab, it should be offered. If they don't, public service is plenty.

I think that jail does more harm then good when it comes to drug users or drug addicts because it generally fails to address their problem if they are addicts so it's of no help to their problem which is why rehab or some form of mental health help is better, also another good alternative to jail is community service. Also a lot of times when drug users come out of jail the one of the few or easier ways of making money is to start selling drugs so all in all it creates more issues to have people who are doing drugs(not selling) in jail. It also costs so much money to have this mass amount of people who don't belong in jail in jail so even from just an economic stand point it sucks to have that many people in jail or aren't getting the help they need.

I kinda think both. They should go to rehab then sent to a facility, but for not as much time. They still need help, but they also need to be punished for their actions

Rehab only works on someone who's willing to change. I wouldn't waste money on it unless that person shows interest in getting help.
