he's choosing drugs over me

Now he wants to break up because he wants to do drugs and drink without having to worry about me getting upset.  I'm not necessarily looking for a way to keep him around, I mean I would love to because I love him and obviously cAre for him. But is there anything I can do for him, as far as his drug habits. Like that's not good that he wants to freely do drugs like that right? Please tell me I'm not just some crazy girl who's clingy. God this is killing me. Help please. 

Edit: I just want to add to this that he is not a bad person. He does not do drugs all the time, maybe couple times a year and just cocaine. I guess it's a combination of his drinking as well, which is obviously no better. I'm not making excuses for him or trying to romanticize him either.
