What is your opinion on the US pulling out of the Paris Accord?

I swear, of all the petty moves Trump has ever pulled, this is the worst.

I don't know what the official justification is for it, but we all know he did it because the Europeans showed him up, especially Macron. There was no downside to staying in the Paris Agreement.

Now - better watch the blue states closely, because New York, California and Washington have already created a climate change alliance that will follow the Paris Agreement. If more sign on, I don't think Trump's ego will be able to handle it.

I can't begin to tell you how frustrating it's for me to see this. So much for someone who wanted to be the "leader of the world " and have other countries' respect. Does he not realize how many jobs would be lost???   I am so proud of the governor of CA and NY to take the lead on it with China. Also, Phoenix's mayor just announced we are one of the 76 cities which will stay with Paris Accord❤️.

To be fair, it was just a symbolic move to make his base supporters happy, but it doesn't mean we're going to suddenly start polluting more. I think that the general trend of popular new startups in this country is to go green, and most people try to do their part to keep the environment safe for their children, so I have hope that our country is still on the right path. He may also use it as a negotiating tactic later on to get other countries to do what he wants if he signs the accord again. I'm not saying he did the right thing because I consider myself an environmentalist and I regularly donate to the rainforest alliance, along with other green causes, but I'm trying to find some glimmer of hope in all of this. I'm still grateful to live in this country, and I find relief knowing that any given president can only stay in office for 8 years max.
