I need help

I am 14 just finished 8th grade and im going to highschool. I want to handle the situation between my legs, but I don't know how. Should i trim it or shave it all? Should i keep a little on the top or keep a bush? How do I ask my mother about it or even at all. I have tried to shave before it was a disaster because i did it wrong, so please help me.😣
