Baby Shower Plans!!

When are you ladies planning to have your baby shower? I know they are typically in the last month or two, but I live 1,000 miles away from family in Maine, and am due in February. I am afraid of bad weather and havin to drive in it, so am thinking mid-November before it is likely to snow. I will be about 27 weeks then. Is that far too early for a shower? I would like to do it later, but am terrified of driving so far in ice and snow.
