Why can't they be just as happy for me too?

I told my mom I was pregnant, she seemed almost disappointed. I get why, I'm single, but I'm 28, I can take care of this baby. When my brother and sister in law told her they were having a baby, she was so happy. But she's not as happy for me. It kind of hurts my feelings. Am I just being overly sensitive, or would it bother y'all too?

I would be hurt but my mom and I have a sort of contentious relationship so I wouldnt be surprised lol. Don't let it bring you down, Im sure her intentions are pure and she is probably just worried about any difficulties you might face.

It would probably hurt me too, but I'm sure her concern is for the baby and it having a relationship with its dad. Will it ? You are definitely at an age where you can take care of yourself and baby just fine.

I'm a very liberal person, but I think I'd be worried/upset if my daughter were to have a baby without being in a serious stable relationship. Your mom is right to be worried because it is a big responsibility and you might have to do it all by yourself (without a partner's help). You absolutely can do it, no doubt about it, but it will be harder than if u had a partner helping out. Once she sees that you are happy, she will be happy too. And no matter what, she will love that baby! It is normal for a mom to be upset at this situation at first.
