Does any other working moms/ parents have issues at work in reference to family life?
So my husband and I both work at our local 911 center as dispatchers. We work 12 hour shifts same days on same days off so we can swap our daughter and car at each shift change. We have one supervisor who has no children and is giving us a hard time when we are forfeiting our 15 minute break to swap. We're not the first couple to do this and it makes no sense to me because if we got child care we would be late and my salary is the equivalent to a year of day care. I'm going to talk to our human resources department about it but am I alone here?
I just don't get why society doesn't value families anymore. These are our future caregivers. Our future tax payers. Why not support the family that raises them instead of making things difficult?
Sorry if I'm venting but I needed to let this out.
