Am I petty for this??

Question

So I'm a homemaker and my clients wife thinks putting her clothes, and her grandkids clothes in the basket for me to do the laundry is ok. Now the first couple of times I didn't know any better so I figured I'll just do them. Over time I found that it was mainly her clothes that were being washed while the client in assigned to only had a few things to be washed. It can literally be done in one load. Am I wrong if I sat aside her clothes and let her know that I'm not assigned to her but her husband instead.....? I mean that is who I get paid for watching after, not her...... am I being petty??

I'm a caregiver. If I'm assigned to care for the husband, and the wife has laundry that needs washing as well... I just wash it. It doesn't take any time away from me caring for him. Might as well just do it. 
I figure if I do her laundry as well, it gives her less to worry about so she can provide better care for him when I'm not there. 
Just do the laundry. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am so confused. Probably naivety on my part. But how do you work for a husband and not for his wife? No judgement just honestly curious of how this works.

Are you a private contractor? Or are you employed by an agency? If you are employed by an agency, you should ask them what you need to do. They will probably just tell you to do the laundry though. I don't think it really matters who you are assigned to, if the laundry is in his basket, it should be washed. I mean if it's only a few things, it's not going to take you very much extra time. If it's a huge load of laundry that's mostly someone else's stuff, then maybe ask your agency what you need to do about that.

Nope it's not wrong. She knows that you're only supposed to wash his clothes and if she doesn't explain it to her

Not petty, but it depends on the level of extra work it causes you whether I think you should say something. If you're washing folding and drying a whole families laundry she's abusing your role. If it's just her laundry, and she doesn't make much, idk how much I'd mind.

I dont really think it is petty. It seems like she is just taking advantage of you by making you do all of her laundry and her kids laundry. What is stopping her from doing it?
