relationship problems

So my boyfriend and I were on a break for about a week because he was deciding on his feelings. He thought we argued too much and I thought we could work it out. He completely broke up with me today, but he still wants to be friends because he wants us to be in each other's lives still. He says that I make him happy and that he still loves me but he doesn't want a relationship. There are no other girls, so I am confused as to why he wouldn't want the relationship. We have been "friends" for a week now and we don't argue, and we hang out almost everyday. Do you guys know how to make sense of this and explain it to me?
