Did the pill make you gain weight?

Hello everyone! 
Ive never been on birth control and im intrested in the pill. And I would like to read others experiences I don't mind the weight gain but I hear this all the time and I'm intrested in knowing your experiences.

The doctor that prescribed my birth control to me said that "women like to blame the pills but they get lazy" (his exact words). In my experience with previously being on the pill for 3-4 years I did gain weight, but I'm also prone to weight gain & weight loss so it's really hard to tell if the pills was actually the cause. I assure you I didn't get lazy after taking a pill though lol.

Actually the truth is that the hormone progesterone in birth control actually makes you feel hungry!! It is used sometimes for patients who have a loss of appetite.  So to everyone saying it's just because you get lazy I'm so happy your weight is manageable, but to someone who gained on BC while working out and eating healthy it wasn't for lack of effort. You're literally altering your body chemistry and that doesn't come without side effects.

There's hundreds of kinds of bc. It depends on the woman and the kind of bc you take. I'm on Aviane and it's on the lower dosage side so the side effects are dull. I haven't noticed any difference in my body except mood changes at the beginning of the cycle. I was a super B for 2 days, couldn't control it. That has never happened to me before...

I LOVED the pill! T regulates your periods, makes them lighter, alleviates your symptoms too.

I didn't have any cramps or anything just a below average bleed. Plus if going in good you can take 2 packs back to back and not have a period at all!

I'd say it helped with my weight because I didn't get the bloat and water gain which without the pill is terrible for me!! At BOTH ovulation and AF I only have one normal week per month without it. Once. Any out straight back on it to get my body back x X x

I gained weight being on it, 20lbs, & once I was off it took a while to lose but was successful. Tried many different brands, all the same results. It just didn't agree with me, made me sick, bloated, extreme mood swings & weight gain. Look into all kinds of birth control, everyone is different!

I did gain a little bit of weight on the pill (around 8lbs in 24 months). It was noticeable when I got off it and I just lost weight immediately. Unfortunately there are less than enjoyable emotional side  effects that come with the pill and it varies by brand so do your research and choose wisely!

It depends.  Most pills made me gain weight and horrible side effects.  I have to have minimal to no estrogen pills and since finding that out I had no issues with weight or side effects.

Mmm I was on the implant and I was not large at all in my eyes 140s and once I got it out within a few months dropped to 120s. No change in diet or lifestyle...but this did not happen on the pill so I think it depends on you and what option you are on.
