My boyfriend and I have been together just over a year now and for the past four weeks we've been fighting and bickering like crazy. 
I'm guessing it might be because one of our best friends just committed suicide and we're trying to go on with our lives. It may also be because we both live with his mother in her basement, and we are trying to get our own apartment without her knowledge. It could also be family stress, his parents are divorcing. 
Who knows why exactly; the point is we have our hands on each other's throats! I don't know how much longer I can take this, and I can't figure out how to address something I don't understand. 
Maybe hearing about everyone else will make me feel better😩😣😞

We have been together for 13yrs but been through a lot we have a 10yr old and I'm 34 weeks today with a daughter who has a serious heart problem and may not even be able to be saved 😢 so the arguing has been worse recently but hopefully that's just stress! 🤞🏻

My SO and I have been together for 3.5 years. Weve had our periods where we fight for a bit and have short fuses with each other.

However it sounds like you're both under a lot of stress as well as mourning for a friends death. Maybe you two should go take a weekend away together, spend some quality time together to reconnect and get back to supporting each other instead of attacking.

Be very open with him and disclose your feelings, but make sure when you're doing it your in a state of mind where you're in control of your emotions. No point yelling at him to picking his dirty washing up. It's only going to make him respond in hostile. So just really sit down, be open, loving, compassionate and listen to his needs as well.

If he can't be open, don't push him so he feels backed up, but tell him it's important for you both to be open and that you just want to support him. Because that's what a healthy relationship is about. And that's my key to keeping a relationship together.
