Should I circumcise my son when he is born?

Interested to hear thoughts and comments regarding this topic. We are leaning heavily towards not circumcising due to various issues that include the risk of death. Anyways! Look forward to the convo!

Do your research!! Go watch "The elephant in the hospital" on YouTube and then read up on it. My whole family is circumsized but my husband's is not and we're not going to be doing it with our son. I have a friend who's a nurse and she had to strap the little guys down and stuck sugar water in their mouths to help them stop screaming during the procedure. It's not "painless" or "easy" like they tell you. Her stories were enough to convince me it's not for us! And if you teach your boys proper hygiene, they won't get infections.

I have assisted with performing circumsisons (I'm a PA) and I feel very comfortable my son having it done when he is born in a few months. They inject area with lidocaine (which is why baby screams, it feels like a bee sting but area is completely numb 10-15 seconds later). The whole procedure took about 5 minutes and then the baby was back in the room with the mom and already calmed down. For sanitary reasons, I will have my son circumsized.

We circumcised my son when he was born and I seriously regret it. He kept kicking himself in the penis in the first weeks and re-opening the wound. I'd take off his diaper to find blood. I felt so awful. I actually took him to the ER at one point because I thought he was peeing blood. The entire experience was a nightmare

We definitely will be. I told my SO it was entirely up to him as I don't have one to judge by 😂 he ended up ripping when he was a young age and had to have it done then, he said it was an absolutely horrible experience and he wished they had done at the beginning. I've had a few male friends throughout the years with similar experiences. They have had it done later in life (adult years) saying it was a horrible experience. There's always a risk for everything, if you have it done and if you don't. You and your SO will make the right decision for your baby 😊❤️ we will be judged for having it done and would be if we didn't.

I circumcised my other son but won't be circumcising my next. My first had a bad experience that I don't want to repeat. I have friends that work as labor and delivery nurses. They have seen many botched attempts. It's unnecessary in my opinion.

My boyfriend is not circumcised because his Father did not want him to be so we are not getting pur little boy circumcised as well

It depends on if you want to get it done or not! If you do then I would do it early cause they won't remember and it will heal fast. I did my sons at the hospital he cried for a few minutes and then was done. He never got it infected or any complications. At the end of the day your the parent and it's your decision on what you want to do and when!

if this baby is a boy then yes we will have him curcumsized. I have never met a grown man who regretted having his done. Whatever you choose to decide, it's your baby and don't let anyone talk you into or out of what you think is right.
