If you're in need, or are working with, a breastfeeding support person please know what their credentials actually are. There are a lot of people who mention they are working with an LC. There's no qualifications to call yourself and lactation consultant. Anyone can go out and make business cards and market themselves as an LC. If you're experiencing difficulty it would be best to find an IBCLC as they are considered the Gold Standard. While Leche League is an incredible resource the Leaders do not have the skills to help beyond what is considered normal.
