Why?!

Why do so many people think that just because I was physically abused by my mother as a child that I will be the same way to my kids?! I will not! Why would I put them through what I went through?! Yeah, we do tend to imitate our parents, but that can be by choice!

It happens to be a cycle for SOME people who were abused, sexually and/or physically. My mother drank all the time and hit me everytime she got mad about something.  That doesn't mean I will beat my kids. It depends on how you looked at your situation growing up. All you can do is prove them wrong.

Because so many are taught that most people follow what their parents did to them. My mom was horribly abused as a kid she never hurt me or my brother. Don't lessen to them. You can break the cycle.

It's a cicle! That's what people says all the time, just because our parents did bad things to us doesn't mean that we'll do the same to our kids. I come from a broken home, physically and sexually abused. I promised myself to never hurt my kids and if someone touch my kids they are going to jail. 
Don't listen to that people, we.. You can be better then your mom, you know how it feels so you won't do the same to your kids.

I would think you wouldn't do that, knowing what you yourself went through you wouldn't want that for your children!
