Biting

My 8 month old is biting! My first daughter only did it once, I took her off, tapped her lip and firmly told her no and she never did it again. But this girl does it at least half her feeding. Sometimes she's wide awake and does it then smiles at me and other times she's fail asleep when she does it. Is anyone else's little one doing this and how can I make it stop?
