baby shower

When did you have yours? Due in November but would really like to do the shower in late July.  Just want to get it out of the way and have plenty of time to buy everything else I need to. My cousin says that's to early and to wait. The only thing I'm worried about is that there will only be summer clothes out at most stores but the baby will need winter clothes but there's tons of other things people could buy cheap instead.
