Do you believe in soulmates?

I only ask because I never really used to. I remember talking to my mother telling her that the idea of soulmates was stupid. That fairytale, happily-ever-after relationships were not real. It was what people wanted relationships to be, easy and work free.

Now I have been married to my 2nd husband for over a year. I met him and knew immediately that I was going to marry him. He felt the same. So within 3 months, we did. And yes, while we do work at our relationship, it really is pretty easy. I believe he's the other half of my soul. I feel blessed and so very damn lucky.

Anyway, I was just curious how others felt.

I think we are more compatible with some people than others, but I don't believe in one true soulmate for everyone. I think (god forbid) if anything ever happened to your husband, you'd be able to find someone in the future who you had a connection with (but of course hopefully that never happens).

No. Love has nothing to do with your "soul" (which imo doesn't exist). Love is purely a bunch of neurotransmitters firing at just the right time (at least the emotion of love)

Most definitely! But I also believe that there are many people out there that we have connections and are compatible with. I don't think everyone finds their soulmate in their lifetime but may find someone they really click with.

No. Out of the billions of people in the world your soul mate happens to live in the same country, sometimes the same city too? Not likely. But we find people we are really compatible with and great matches. I use the term soulmate tho for my husband but not literally.

Your soulmate isn't always someone you're romantically involved with.  I will believe 100% until the day I die that there isn't a perfect romantic soulmate in the cosmos for me because my soulmate is my son.  I'm a single mom, and the idea of romance at all is nonexistent to me because I don't feel like any love in the world will ever compare or be able to compete with the love a mother has for her child.

Most definitely. But I think everyone has multiple soulmates. 🤷🏼‍♀️ there isn't just ONE person, but a few people that you'd be "soulmates" with.. if that makes any sense 😂

I don't believe there's "one" person for everyone, but for obvious reasons everyone is more compatible and more suited to a select number of people, may it be few or many. The idea that there's only one person you're meant to be with not only completely excludes polyamorous relationships from supposedly being "legitimate", but it also means that it's likely there's always going to be people out there who simply don't have one, you can only make so many pairs until you run out of matches. And the likely hood of your soulmate being the same age (as most people seem to assume they would be), living in the same city, the same time period, being compatible with you at all, and the likelihood of you even meeting them? Not likely, nearly impossible. You're more likely to end up with a soulmate living on the other side of the planet where you'll never find them, having them die young before you've ever met them, or having them be alive centuries before you're even born, if the one and only thing was actually real.

I'm not sure. I was very in love with my ex. Yet it was unhealthy and twisted. I decided I loved myself more than to continue. It hurt but it was for the best. The night I met my current husband I heard his voice first. Then we made eye contact and were introduced. I felt all of it in that moment. I can't really understand how we didn't end up together in the first place if soul mates are real. We are certainly yin and yang.
