Tmi... Mucus plug 35 weeks

I dont have a picture becuase in cramping to bad to get up and grab the baggy I have it in. There is no blood I got a long stretch of green / white mucus no blood and havw been on and off today with smaller ammounts I'm having sever cramps where I actually cry and don't know what to do. In my back and lower vagina feels like a bad bad period and like I should be bleeding with the cramps but have not. I'm 35 weeks pregnant and 1 day. I go to the doctors Thursday morning to get checked and so on. Is it safe to wait until then I'm nervous and not sjre what to do. My boyfeiends mom says I just need to relax. I am going natural and don't wanna havw to go to hospital if not needed. Any suggestions
