birth control effect on period

Can birth control effect a period to where I can miss my period all together? I'm only a day late so I'm not extremely worried more curious. I'm not worried about pregnancy because I'm on the pill as well as condom plus he pulls out (even with the condom). Has anyone missed a period because of their birth control? (I use a combination one with 28 days.) Thanks! Oh also by the way I'm still getting the regular PMS symptoms I get just no blood at all. (Probably too much information but I'm trying to explain my situation)
