Am I wrong??

Question

My husband wants me to go into therapy for issues he thinks I have. I told him if he wants me to go so bad that he can call and make me an appointment and that he can also pay for it. Is that wrong of me? Because I don't want to go dump money into someone's pockets that is just gonna do all the same things my cat does, just sit and listen to me talk about my problems.

Well it's both of your money and if you feel he isn't hearing you a therapist is a great mediator and will help you understand eachother. I think you should go at least once with an open mind. It's really sweet and healthy that he is taking this approach.

With this mindset therapy probably wouldnt do much for you (idk whats going on obviously) therapy really only helps those who want the help. Im not saying you dont want to get better with whatevers going on but you dont seem to have a positive want to see a therapist so itll be hard for it to work. Which is perfectly ok therapy really isnt for everyone. I went hoping it would cure me then noticed it wasnt doing shit for me and i stopped. If you can find things that help you (like talking to your cat) stick with those. You could give therapy a shot if you have insurance they may cover some if not all of the therapy so it may not be as expensive as you think. I know its a little odd to essentially pay someone to listen to you vent but they can sometimes offer you a different perspective on things that you never really wouldve put together yourself. So they can be helpful lol you just would have to be open to that. But id say if you want to try therapy do it because you want to give it a shot not because he thinks you need it.
