Artificially breaking waters.

My midwife would like to break my waters to try and bring on my labour. I am over due. 2cm dilated, I've had a stretch and sweep and lost my mucus plug. But no signs of labour. This will be done at her clinic (not at the hospital) therefore there will be no drugs to induce labour just purely breaking my waters. Has anyone had this done? What was your experience? How soon after having your waters broken did you go into labour/ start having contractions? Was it more intense than a normal labour would if been?
