How many ultrasounds do you get?

My doctor only does a first initials ultrasound (I was almost 9 weeks) and then a 20 week gender ultrasound. I hate that that's the only two times I get to see my baby. One where you can't even tell it's a baby. You have the option to pay for a 4D too, which creep me out but I'm going to do it! I just feel so detached from this pregnancy and trying so hard to find a connection to my growing child.

My insurance only covers two, depending on the doctors they may or may not want more. I have had a very normal pregnancy and I had my 10 wk and 19 wk ultrasounds before I moved to a different city requiring me to switch doctors. The new doctor likes to have three ultrasounds done throughout pregnancy but since my insurance already covered two I had to pay, not sure if it was full or just amount that the insurance didn't cover, but they were only $55 each so to me that wasn't too bad. But every doctor and insurance could be different.

If it's a healthy pregnancy you'll only get two ultrasounds but there's usually independent businesses that can do one for around $100.

Depends on the doctor. I have a perfectly healthy pregnancy and have had ultrasounds at 8 weeks (dating scan), 14 weeks (NT scan), and the anatomy scan at 18 weeks. I'm 26 weeks now and get one more further down the line to check baby's position and growth.
