Heating Pad okay?

Hey ladies! I'm a couple of weeks pregnant, and every now and then have some very minor cramping. Is it okay to use my heating pad on low to ease the pain?

I heard it's not ok. They even said in the baby book to not use heating blankets. I would just drink warm tea!

I would not until asking the doctor. I know that you can't go in a hot tub or anything because of the change in body temperature, so I am not sure if a heating pad would be ok or not. I do know that an increase in maternal core temperature can cause birth defects. I would not risk it this early on because your baby is in its crucial developmental stages right now. That being said, the doctor might say it is fine but I wouldn't do it without asking them.
