Venting'ish

How common is it to go to the hospital and have the baby less than 5 hours later? My SO will be out of state taking summer classes, and i'm also due next month.. she can come at any time, so it worries me that he's going to miss it. He will be about 7 hours away, but can make the drive in 5-6hrs. He promises that he'll be there, but I feel like it'll be a promise he can't keep since the whole experience is so spontaneous. I REALLY don't want to go through this without him. 😭
