sleep training- sleep Lady shuffle

Anyone here done the sleep Lady shuffle version of sleep training? I just finished night 6 and the peanut is still getting hysterical. Had to pick her up twice to calm her. Still taking an hour for her to eventually give up and konk out. I still feed her twice a night as she's still 5 months old but if I put her down awake she still managed to cry for an hour on the middle of the night. Should I put her down more drowsy? What's the deal? Will it ever get better? Any advice would be awesome. Thanks!
