So I told my mum I would prefer a family gathering (including men) in the form of a BBQ rather than a baby shower to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our little one. She has planned the BBQ but only invited women, the reason I wanted the men in the family to be there too is so that they could spend more time getting to know my partner. My partner has also admitted to me he feels left out as all attention is on me while pregnant and I completely understand where he is coming from as this is his child too.
