Boyfriend can't make me orgasm

my boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and a half and he's never made me orgasm. I've talked to him about the issue before and have tried teaching him what I like but we still could never quite get me there. it's to the point now where he doesn't even try anymore because he knows I probably won't orgasm. we're both going off to different colleges this fall and idk what to do!
