spotting and haven't started my period

 So 4 days go I thought I started my period but  then. I didn't I was just spotting.  Then  this morning I thought I started again. It was pinkish but again it just stoped my period was suppose to start yesterday  it's always on time and I never spot I took a test said negative just wondering people's thoughts or if this has happend to anyone else  thanks everyone
