Unmarked police cars?

They go hardcore with ghost police cars where I live. I saw one that was a mini van with one of those stick figure families on the back.

I see their purpose for stealth situations, but I don't care for the idea of them being used for common traffic issues. Mainly because you have no idea if that's a real cop or creep who got $80 lights installed on their dash. In my town there is no "if you didn't do anything wrong then you won't be pulled over". If you're out past 11pm (curfew for minors) you can be pulled over for that to check your ID. It happens all the time. I often clock out at 3am and am well aware of it. That's on top of stupid crap like going 3mph over the limit or or "hugging the line too much" aka driving straight.

I'm torn about it because I've heard of a lot of bad people using them to their advantage to take control over another person. But then again, there are also more uniforms out there if ever there's an issue. Idk.

I chose against. Only bc there have been too many posers pretending to be police n raping women. I get it there r numbers you can call n verify it's a real cop or notify cop u will pull over at next well lit populated area but dispatch has already failed people trying to call for help bc of busy phone lines and stuff so women clogging up the lines to make sure it's legitimately a cop is a waste of resources when they can just use a marked vehicle. I'm not referring to narcotics and FBI and other special departments as they don't pull people over. But regular day to day beat cops or whatever u call them can just drive a marked vehicle. By the time people see them it's too late anyway. No need for unmarked in my opinion.

For them,  they are needed for more reasons than you'd know, unless you have close family members in a specialized unit that drives an unmarked car.

I'm all for unmarked police vehicles. We use them in our city mainly for drug busts. For the most part if an officer is assigned to traffic duty or speed traps, they're in marked vehicles. If any of you ladies ever get pulled over by an unmarked vehicle and you feel uncomfortable, call the police station and tell them you are alone in your car, feel uncomfortable stoping, where your location is so they could contact that cruiser and tell you wether or not it is an authorized vehicle. We've had too many incidents with unauthorized unmarked police vehicles, keep safe ladies!

I just moved from Los Angeles to North Carolina. LAPD cars are impossible to miss. The town I live in now uses unmarked police cars and I find that pretty annoying. What if some creepy perv gets a blue light on his car and pulls me over pretending to be a cop?

I'm for them. A lot of times it's the only way to catch speeders; of course everyone slows down when they see a cop car. But most people don't when they see an average looking new Ford or whatever. As for safety concerns, I haven't heard of any issues with unmarked cars around here at all, so I can't comment on that.

I personally know all of the marked cars around here as being Ford models in the colors green, black, white, or blue, so I slow down when I see Ford models in general.

If you don't break the law unmarked cars aren't an issue 🤷🏽‍♀️
