Nesting but frustrated

My husband and I have recently moved into a house and I am starting that nesting faze to prepare for the baby and just to overall feel in control before things get crazy. The biggest problem I have is my husband is continually making a mess and is missing the point entirely when I say anything about it. Everything left to clean up is the heavy items I can't lift and his clothes, but he just won't help. How do I get him to understand my need to get things in order and get him to help?
