If my hospital is a half hour away, how far should i wait for my contractions to be apart?

Mine is 55 minutes away and my midwife told me to still come at the 5-1-1 rule. 5 mins apart for a minute in length and has been happening for an hour.

I live 1/2 an hour from the hospital where I'm delivering too. I was told that if I'm having painful enough contractions that I can't walk or talk during them or if my water breaks to go to the hospital then and call the doctor on my way

There's no 5-1-1 rule or anything for my midwives practice. Being that it's my 3rd child, they just told me to call when I think things are happening and follow my intuition about when to go in. Our hospital is also 30 minutes away. I've been through it before so I think I have a good idea of when to go in... but I have a feeling I'll wait until it's prettt intense for a few hours.
