Soon into labor?

Question

So yesterday I went to my doctor's appointment and she check my cervix. The baby is completely position ready and 1 cm dilated😱 but im only 36 weeksand 2 days😬

Is it to early?
Is it a sign that I will be soon into labor?

Im just so scared.

My first I was admitted to the hospital at 35w3d for preeclampsia, and dilated to 3.5cm before they even induced me. They figured my body wasn't going to let me go full term anyways.

My second, I was at 2cm at 36 & 37weeks. And 3cm for 38&39. At my 40 week, on my duedate I was 3.5. She was 3 days late and when I was admitted to the hospital I was at 5cm.

You can spend weeks at a certain number and no baby. My friend stayed at 1cm until she was induced at 40 weeks.

I think you have plenty time. You could stay at 1cm for weeks. If the dr didn't say anything about being effaced you should be fine for a while

Those are all good things! I've seen patients stay 1,2,3,4, even 5cm for weeks though. I wouldn't take it as a sign of impending labor if that's all that's going on. Hoping for a happy, healthy, few more weeks for all that fetal development going on these last few weeks 🙏🏼

You can walk around dialated for weeks unfortunately... but it's a good sighn your body
