Birth story:I was supposed to get induced this morning

Birth story:

I was supposed to get induced this morning. They told me to call the hospital at 5am. I called, and they told me to call back at 8am. I called back, my nurse was in a csection and asked if I would call back in 30 min because they were waiting for some other women to deliver before getting me a room. I went to the bathroom and had bright red blood, and I had been having contractions, but.. story of my life. I called back at 8:30, nurse was still in a CS and asked if I could call back in another 30 min, but I told her I was bleeding and she said to just come in.

We packed up, said bye to our daughter, and headed to L&D. We got there by 10:15 and I was all hooked up, and contracting by 11am. The doc checked me and I was 1cm, and 70% effaced at -2 station (very high). They started pitocin on a high dose. My contractions were tolerable for a while, but my back contractions were getting worse and more intense. 3 hours later, at 2pm I was checked and 2cm, -1 station and 80% effaced. My contractions picked up and were very uncomfortable, about 2 min apart. When I was checked again at 5pm I was still 2cm, -1 station and 80%. Feeling so discouraged, and in so much pain, I asked for an epidural.

I got my epidural completed by 6pm, which was the most painful thing ever. Almost immediately, baby's hr was declining and they had to give me oxygen and turn me on my side. I finally felt comfortable afterwards and watched some tv.

I hadn't eaten since 7pm the night before, so I was going on almost 24 hours no food. I kept telling my bf to go eat (all day) but he didn't want to eat alone and didn't want to eat in front of me, even though I insisted. At 8pm, he decided to call his dad to meet up with him for dinner and then come back (since I was progressing so slowly). Shortly after he left, the nurses came in to turn me to my other side. My water broke in full once I was turned over. When they went to clean me up, she checked me and I was complete and at 0 station. I called my boyfriend and they had just sat down to eat and he said he would come back right away. He got back and the pushing began. I pushed for about an hour and then the doc came in. They had to use a vacuum to get baby out, he was face up, which is why I had the back labor, and I experienced a 3rd degree tear. Baby is totally healthy though, I'm sore as hell, but I got my VBAC!! My nurse said that I am the second successful VBAC she's assisted. My team was so great and supportive. My birth didn't go completely the way I wanted, but the end result was by far better than the CS I had with my daughter (emotionally). I'm already walking around, but unable to pee on my own 🙄

My baby boy was born at 10:06pm and he is so calm, nursing like it's his job, and I am so in love. I can't wait for our daughter to meet her brother 💙
