Is there still a chance even though it said negative at 8 dpo??

So my husband and I are trying to conceive #2 and this week I have been cramping, so I went against my intuitions and took a test. I was 8 dpo when I took it and it came back negative 😢 I am suppose to get my period next Monday or Wednesday (it's been fluctuating between 28 & 30 days since I had my first). Has anyone tested early and got a BFN, but tested again a few days later and got a BFP?? I never had any symptoms with my first and just took a test bc I was late. Hoping there is still a chance!!! Side note: I never get cramps when I have my period so that's what threw me off a bit and convinced me to test.
