when do you get ultrasounds

Question

I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks because I had some spotting and was worried, ended up being normal. Went to my prenatal appt and doctor said I won't get another ultrasound till 18 weeks, is that normal?. Was expecting to get one at 12 weeks and I asked her twice but she said I could wait till 18 weeks. Her saying that makes me really anxious and don't want stress the baby. It would make me feel a lot better if she listened to me and had one to ease my mind.

I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks (dating scan), 14 weeks (NT scan), and 18 weeks (anatomy scan) and will be getting one more later on to check positioning. (27 weeks now)
I'm not high risk & haven't had any complications - when you get ultrasounds just depends on the doctor, really. But it's extremely common to only have 2-3 ultrasounds the whole pregnancy.

I had one at my doctors office at 8 weeks and then at 20 weeks for the anatomy scan and that's all I got. I paid to get a gender and 3D ultrasound at a private ultrasound place though!

I had my first ultrasound at 9 weeks 2nd at 15 weeks (paid for out of pocket for gender scan) 3rd at 20 weeks (anatomy scan) they discovered low fluid so I've been having them every two weeks since.. I'm 28 weeks now and my doctor has moved me to once a week ultrasounds to keep an eye on fluid and growth. So far my little one is measuring right where she should be. They have no idea why my fluid is low.

My OB didn't offer a single ultrasound until the 20 week anatomy scan. (Not even a dating ultrasound!) I wanted to see my baby before that just to see everything was progressing normally, so I found a clinic to do one at 8 weeks and then I did a gender determination at 15 weeks. Usually it seems most don't do any scans after anatomy scan unless they need to check up on something.

Normal. Had one at my first appointment at 11 weeks. And one at 21 weeks for my anatomy scan and that was going to be it but later on I had a quick one to make sure she wasn't breeched since she couldn't find her head.

Yup that's completely normal. Like another poster said, doctors don't do more than that unless you're high risk. I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes and at that point forward, I was required to have one every 4 weeks to monitor the baby's growth.

Unless you're high risk, it's normal to only get two or three ultrasounds while you're pregnant.
