Wonder Woman Movie Fat Shaming?

I've been hearing a lot of controversy lately about how the Wonder Woman movie is fat shaming. What are your thoughts? I saw it recently and didn't even notice any "body shaming." The movie itself was great and I think focusing on her body really takes away from the movie. Please share your thoughts!

Her figure is healthy. If people think it's fat shaming to have a superhero be fit as f*** then they need to reevaluate. I haven't seen the movie but I'm over all this fat shaming crap.

I haven't seen the movie but I know Wonder Woman's stories from the comics...she's an Amazon who trains physically like day and night for years lol it would be highly unrealistic for her to be fat? If that's what they are saying is fat shaming? I can't think of any other reason people are saying it's fat shaming? All of the Amazons are fit bc they train physically everyday...

Why does this only come up in female centric movies?

Has Wolverine ever been accused of body shaming? Avengers? Captain America? Hulk? Iron Man? Superman? Batman? Green Lantern?

Wonder Woman is a box office success. It's the highest grossing, live action movie to be directed by a woman. It's gross earnings are already surpassing men centred DC movies. Just seems like people are doing anything to knock off that success.

As someone who loves female comic book characters, only to see them completely destroyed in movie adaptations by men who don't know how to write female characters with any justice, this movie is so amazing for me.

All I want in life is Rogue and Storm to have amazing characterisation, to be involved, or be, the central plot, and to just be so badass.

TBH, I want an X-Woman x-men movie.

I haven't seen it. What are they saying, like there are lines in the movie that are directly "fat shaming"? Or just because she is skinny it's implying fat women can't be superheroes?

It's fat shaming because she's not fat? Does everyone have to be fat now? Am I fat shaming people by not being fat enough? I thought body positivity was supposed to fight against people being told how much they should weigh.

I haven't seen the movie but like, she's a warrior, she engages in super high intensity physical exercise/workouts whatever you want to call it, it's no surprise that she's all muscle and not much fat because, that's kind of what working out does? Particularly if you weren't fat in the first place. Maybe that's not what they meant but 🤷‍♂️ I'm not seeing it.

I saw it, but what? Where was there fat shaming? She's from an Amazon tribe where chicks train constantly and they picked athletic looking actors. It makes sense.

Will we whine about their lack of well-endowed actors next, or just accept them for how they look?
