Trying to concieve/false negative test

Hello, my husband and I have been married for 13 years and now trying to conceive. I will be turning 35 on Monday, June 26 and would love pregnancy as a gift. So period comes regular every month but last month it was 14 days late and finally came bit for only 2 days, never had that happen. I had experienced very sore breast and lower stomach pains as if I pulled a muscle and this went o for several days. When should I test again. I tested 2 days ago and I swear I saw a faint lone and dark line. Should I wait til next month?? Please help????
