Oral and period

my boyfriend went down on me and I thought my period was over but he started fingering me at the same time and suddenly stopped and showed me that there was blood on his fingers.. I was so embarrassed but he didn't freak out, he was very supportive and told me that i had nothing to be embarrassed about. But I still can't believe it happened and I'm still embarrassed lol, has this happened to anyone ??
