Insight appreciated!

So I've never posted here before and I'm not sure this is the appropriate place, but I've got something kind of bizarre happening and I just was wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this.

Quick history is that I'm a breastfeeding mom of an almost 2 year old, my period didn't return until 19 months PP (in march) once it did my husband and I decided to try for #2.

My cycles have been really long, at 40+ days, but have gotten progressively shorter each month. I use ovulation tests to get an idea for when I'm going to ovulate.

My last cycle (May) I ovulated on cycle day 24/25 and about 7 DPO I took a pregnancy test just because the 2ww sucks expecting it to be negative, and it was. 2 days later my period arrived a bit earlier than expected with a very very heavy flow (I use a menstrual cup and it was literally overflowing a couple times a day the first 3 days) that lasted 6 days. A week later (Sunday a week ago) I decided to start using my ovulation tests and it was positive. Husband and I did the deed that night and Tuesday night. I tested 5 days in a row and it was positive every day, which I thought was weird and I actually thought that maybe the tests were defective. Saturday (yesterday) morning I woke up and I was spotting. On a whim I took a pregnancy test and it was a very strong positive. Convinced that since it was in the same box with the ovulation strips maybe it too was defective giving me a false positive, I tried two other brands, both also strong positives.

I feel it is unlikely that I ovulated and implanted between Sunday and Saturday and that hcg levels were high enough to give me such a strong positive. Which leads me to believe I became pregnant in my previous cycle, and might explain all the positive ovulation tests but I don't understand the really heavy period, which leads me to worry.

I'm still spotting today, and if I hadn't had the strong positive hcg I might think it was implantation bleeding. I'm making an appointment first thing in the morning to see my obgyn, but I've been fretting that something is wrong since yesterday. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
