possible fistula on baby boy?

At my baby's 2 month check up our Dr noticed what may be a possible fistula on his genitalia area. He basically told me to watch to see if pee comes out of that area... we haven't noticed any and there seem to be no issues. He also said they would continue to monitor and then probably refer us to a urologist. I'm freaking  because it probably means surgery in our future... anyone experience this?
