Clomid vs injectables

I used clomid once before and it gave my cysts. I already ovulate on my own so I guess it over stimulated them. If af shows this cycle I'm thinking about IUI but I don't want to get cysts again. What should I do? I definitely have to see what my doctor suggests, but she has never mentioned injectables. We are unexplained infertility 😢
