has anyone used a shock collar to train your dog. it to chase cars or go in the road? did it work?

I have a black lab and we have tried everything to get him to stop chasing cars when they go by. (We live in the country). We've never tried using a shock collar tho and I'm thinking about going and buying one today. I'm just scared to hurt him with those things. Has anyone used a shock collar for this purpose? Did it work?

Yes. I live in the country as well and have had the same problem with my lab/plott mix.

I got the collar and left it on it's lowest setting. I only had to shock him a few times before he got the picture. He now knows when it is on and listens so much better.

I know that some people think it is inhumane. But, in my opinion, not trying to prevent them from crossing the road (where they could get hit) is more irresponsible.

I have a shock collar for my shepherd but I only use the vibration or the beep button. That works enough. I've never actually shocked him
